Professional Biography
My career in alternative investments began in 1994 while pursuing a degree in accounting at Fairleigh Dickinson University. I joined Rothstein Kass & Company as an intern in the IT group, where I was responsible for capital allocations for their hedge fund clients—a foundational experience that sparked my long-term commitment to hedge fund operations and accounting.
After advancing to the role of hedge fund senior auditor, I joined Grant Thornton to help build their hedge fund back-office practice, utilizing Shepro Braun’s Total Return platform (now part of SS&C). This experience laid the groundwork for my transition to the buy-side, where I would go on to lead and scale multiple hedge fund platforms.
In 1997, I joined Troubh Fund Management as Controller, quickly taking on broader responsibilities including investor relations and the creation of internally produced, macro-driven monthly performance statements. I was promoted to Chief Financial Officer at age 27 and helped grow the firm from $10 million to $550 million in assets under management, driven by strong investment performance and targeted marketing efforts.
My experience launching Talara Capital Management remains a career highlight. In early 2010, I partnered with a former Tiger Cub PM and his co-founder to develop the infrastructure, pitchbook, DDQ, and operational framework from scratch. After months of preparation and sweat equity, we launched on January 1, 2011, with $130 million in Day One capital and eventually surpassed $250 million in AUM, including two managed accounts and two private equity vehicles.
I’ve consistently gravitated toward start-ups and new launches. My entrepreneurial mindset and operational discipline allow me to build funds from the ground up with a results-driven approach. I view each engagement as a partnership—committed to delivering long-term value and growing together with my clients. I believe in putting in the effort where it counts, and I thrive in environments where hustle, creativity, and accountability converge.
